The NBU considers instant payments new threat to cash cards

Introduction in Ukraine of the system of instant payments can lower interest in transfer of means between payment cards.

that the NBU at the end of 2016 started the project on transfer of the Ukrainian payment infrastructure to this international standard. According to the project plan, final transition is planned for October, 2019.

Besides, the NBU together with Independent association of banks of Ukraine in May of the 2018th started an operating time of joint approaches on implementation of basic provisions of the international ISO standards 13616 by the Ukrainian banks (International bank account number, IBAN) and ISO 9362 (Business identifier code, BIC).

K use of IBAN will become 2020 obligatory for all clients of banks at implementation of money transfers as in national, and foreign currencies.

according to National Bank, a share of non-cash payments for the first half of the year 2018 increased on 4,5 items in comparison with the same period of 2017 - up to 43,8%, by quantity - on 2,7 items, up to 77,4%.

of All since the beginning of year is carried out by 1,4 billion non-cash operations on the Internet with use of mobile banking and also the e-commerce system (a gain to the first half of the year 2017 - 34,9%) on 572,5 billion UAH (64,5%).

the Lion's share in a total amount of non-cash payments made operations on the Internet of 36,4% (in number of operations - 38,6%), another 29,9% (51,7%) - operations in retail chain stores, 31,1% (7,9%) - operations on money transfer between cards and 2,6% (1,9%) of operation with use of devices of self-service.
