Russia can expel from PACE: the Kremlin prepared the answer

Russia should not wait for initiation of the procedure of an exception of PACE. Moscow started talking about freezing of membership in the Council of Europe.

reported about it the head of the State Duma Committee of Russia of the international affairs Leonid Slutsky, TASS writes.

the Russian politician says that such solution of the Kremlin is influenced by "disruptiveness" of the organization and its institutes.

Is possible, we should think of stay or the termination of membership of Russia in the Council of Europe, without waiting until any anti-Russian "slashing fellows" begin the procedure of an exception,

- he said.

Slutsky commented on the statement of the Secretary general of the Council of Europe Jagland for a possibility of an exception of Russia of the list of member countries if that does not begin to pay contributions to the budget of the Council of Europe till June, 2019.

in reply the Russian politician accused the Council of Europe of "very ungentlemanly" situation.

"It makes such statements as the secretary general driven into a corner. He is a person not pro-Russian and not anti-Russian. He is the chief official in the Council of Europe which there are just not enough financial means", - Slutsky noted.

according to him, Moscow was tired of "infinite Russophobic hysteria", discrimination and double standards in PACE.

What is PACE? It is one of two principal authorized organs of the Council of Europe. Representatives of parliaments of all member states are its part. PACE is the body of inter-parliamentary cooperation, oldest in Europe. The assembly adopts resolutions and recommendations on the basis of reports which are prepared by deputies. Among important powers - elections of the Secretary general of the Council of Europe and its deputy, judges of the European Court of Human Rights, adoption of the conclusions concerning candidates of new member states, monitoring of performance of the obligations taken at the introduction by them.
