Günter Steiner: In Baku everything can be even worse

Haas F1 cars are fast in qualification, but lose competitiveness in a race - it is not possible to maintain the optimum temperature of tires at a distance. The head of team Günter Steiner said that there is no decision yet...

Question: Both racers started in ten, but again did not score points. What for problems at you arose?

Günter Steiner: The same problems that were in Bahrain. With the new tires which are warmed up in thermocovers, the car is fast, and through several circles speed falls. We found this problem after the race in Bahrain, but
was not succeeded to solve it yet.
Question: Do you lack experts quickly to find the solution?

Günter Steiner: Hard to say. Experts are, but we did not find the decision yet. On winter tests it was not as at the route in Barcelona absolutely other characteristics, than at the autodrome in Bahrain or in Shanghai.

In Baku will be even worse. I am ready that we should reconcile to it. I hope, we will find some way out to a stage in Baku, but on similar routes we do not manage to warm up rubber.

Question: In what feature of these routes?

Günter Steiner: On high-speed roads with long straight lines and the turns which are not too loading rubber we do not manage to remove tires in operating range.

On winter tests in Barcelona was cold, but there load of tires is enough bike - and they perfectly worked - quickly got warm and remained with the operating range. In Australia it was warmer - there problems did not arise, and in Bahrain and Shanghai tires just did not work.

cannot explain It with any one factor - a design of the chassis or aerodynamics. The reasons a little, they are interconnected, otherwise we would cope long ago.

Question: How will you look for the decision?

Günter Steiner: - it is necessary to find an opportunity to warm up rubber in the wind tunnel, using temperature of brakes, aerodynamic loading, something else. Yet we have no decision. As soon as appears, I will tell how we achieved it. But so far I do not know.

Question: Four exit stages with long flights complicate search of the decision?

Günter Steiner: No, it makes no difference.
